What We Are

Therapysearch.net consists of 25 therapists who share a commitment to professionalism, integrity, and to providing caring, competent therapeutic services. The purpose of this site is to provide an easy way for visitors to learn about these therapists, and also about the many different kinds of therapy available. To the best of our abilities, we have tried to include counselors who have a personal connection with other listed therapists, as a way to create a quality listing.

What We Are Not

In the state of Washington, all counselors are required to give their clients a disclosure statement which must include the following:

"Registration of any individual with the department does not include a recognition of any practice standards, nor necessarily imply the effectiveness of any treatment."

The same is true for Therapysearch.net.. We are not a referral site, and inclusion in this site is not a recommendation of any of the therapists. The member therapists pay a fee to be a part of this service. We solely list the information that has been provided to us, and do not guarantee its accuracy. We do not accept liability for any statements or actions of the therapists or organizations listed here. The therapists listed herein, along with the organizer of Therapysearch.net, assume no responsibility for the practices of the other therapists on the site.

Our goal is to provide an easy way to learn about many different therapists. It is up to you, through proper due diligence, to discern which one is right for you.

A Note Concerning Therapists' Ethics

It is good to keep in mind that having a degree in counseling does not remove the personal issues of the therapist. As with any occupation, the counseling profession is subject to instances of misconduct. We suggest that you look for information about ethics in your therapist's disclosure statement.

The Washington State Department of Health publishes a consumer education brochure titled "Counseling and Hypnotherapy Clients." Many therapists give this brochure as part of their disclosure statement. You can also request a copy by calling the department at 360-236-4902. (Olympia)

If we become aware that a therapist has been found by the Department of Health to be engaging in unethical behavior, they will be removed from this site.
