WHAT I DO- My job is to listen to you and witness the many aspects of your personality. I hold a center balance point for you in your own internal and external conflicts while you are learning to hold that center for yourself. The Voice Dialogue facilitation I use honors all aspects of your life and holds an unconditional place in which you can develop new insights about yourself and strengthen your ability to make healthy choices. This is practical work with practical results. It helps you to use and balance all of who you are without blaming, discarding, fixing, or rejecting any part of yourself. MY GOAL- My goal is to be both a guide on a journey to greater consciousness and also to work toward putting myself out of a job. I teach usable skills that you can practice and continue to learn on your own. Our work together can be as long or short term as you like, and you can expect each session to be valuable in and of itself. OUR WORK- You really can change and grow without giving up any part of yourself. The secret is in learning to balance between the opposite sides of who you are and creating a capacity for centered choice. If you have struggled with the same patterns of behavior and conflict over and over again in job situations, decision-making, or personal relationships, it is possible to finally "graduate" from these repetitive patterns and move on to a new way of life. Our work together can help you create a grounded and nurturing relationship with yourself so that you can meet life situations and relationships from a place of wholeness and self respect. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT- People who do Voice Dialogue work with me find that they are better at connecting with others and communicating their feelings appropriately – they learn to resolve challenging situations with much less stress and conflict. If you are in a life transition, this work can be very helpful in both letting go of old patterns that no longer serve you and also opening up to new possibilities. Decisions also become easier when you can truly honor both sides of yourself and not get stuck in either/or thinking. And, most people who work with me report more "breathing room" inside themselves, more ability to access their inner strengths, and an expanded range of self expression.

Areas of Expertise:
My work is especially effective for people who are struggling with relationship issues or life transitions, who feel immobilized by their own inner conflicts, or for those who are actively seeking a deeper sense of balance, wholeness, and creative expression in their lives. The Voice Dialogue process I use is a gentle, non-judgmental approach that honors all of who you are and helps you to change and grow without giving up any part of yourself. I hold a deep respect for you in your life process. My best tools are my intutive ability and practiced imagination that help me perceive the inner dynamics of your life situation. I am an experienced business person and published author, and I have more than 25 years experience as a counselor, Voice Dialogue facilitator and teacher.

Other information:

WHAT IS VOICE DIALOGUE?
Voice Dialogue was developed by psychologists, Drs. Sidra and Hal Stone, and is based on the idea that all people are made up of numerous inner selves. The Stones point out that what we think of as our ego, is not really a single entity at all but rather a group of primary selves that run our lives, an “operating ego.”

Understanding the reality of the operating ego explains the mystery of why so many of us sabotage our efforts at success. From the perspective of the operating ego, success is safety, comfort, and the status quo. Taking on a bigger project, becoming more accountable, getting out there in the world, being more visible, leaving a relationship, etc., all threaten the security of this group of primary selves - to them success is making as few waves as possible.

DIRECT ACCESS TO YOUR INNER SELVES -
Voice Dialogue facilitation gives us direct access to the selves and their experience, and it also enables us to start using the gifts of these selves consciously rather than having them run our lives "on automatic." For example, instead of having to be a caretaker for everyone around me, I can shift into having a part of myself that loves to take care of people while also allowing for another part of myself that would focus on self-care. Getting some real separation from these opposites in myself so that I'm not locked into either side and learning to balance from center is the most important part of Voice Dialogue work. We call this developing an "aware ego."

THE IMPORTANCE OF AN AWARE EGO -
This Aware Ego can stand in balance between opposite selves, honoring both of them, perceiving their sometimes mutually exclusive needs, and taking action based on wholeness and integration rather than on duality, control, and repression. Several aspects of Voice Dialogue work make this modality very different from many other approaches to psychology and personal growth. An essential element of this work is learning the "hidden language of energy" - what makes your communication effective, how to create real connection with people. This work helps you to achieve a new capacity for intimacy while at the same time creating healthy boundaries. Voice Dialogue work is collaborative in nature and profoundly non-judgmental and non-pathologizing in its approach.

MIRIAM DYAK CAPTURES THE SOUL OF THIS WORK -
"Miriam Dyak is an excellent Voice Dialogue facilitator, teacher and trainer, and her "Voice Dialogue Facilitator's Handbook" captures the soul of Voice Dialogue facilitation. Miriam is also an extremely articulate, enthusiastic woman of many talents and great creativity. We are delighted to recommend her work." Drs. Hal and Sidra Stone, originators of the Voice Dialogue method.
