Therapy Styles:
My training and background is based in client centered therapy and humanistic therapy which means that although I draw on other disciplines in my work, my first priority is to find out what is bringing you to therapy and tailor your treatment unique to you. I take the time to listen to your experience and help you find out what your barriers are and unlock key issues that may be holding you back. Often times we develop patterns in our life to protect ourselves, but those patterns can become restrictive. My goal is to help you learn more about yourself and gain personal strength and confidence.

Areas of Expertise:
I work with people struggling to control and understand their anxiety as well as depression. Learning increased coping skills as well as trying to find root causes that may add to a positive change. Body image issues and disordered eating are also an area of focus, as well as learning what negative patterns are present currently that inhibit quality of life. I also work with couples struggling to attain a better emotional connection.

Other information:

I have always been fascinated by the strength and resiliency that individuals posses, and are usually not aware of. Because of my interest in how we process and deal with the many experiences we encounter in our lives I began studying psychology at the University of Washington where I received my BA in Psychology. After graduating I worked for four years at the National Eating Disorders Association working on the awareness and prevention of eating disorders. I then attended Seattle University where I received a MA in Psychology. I also have taught classes on body image and self awareness, done chemical dependency counseling and done counseling at local community colleges.
