Therapy Styles:
Over thirty years experience with various treatment modalities, styles, and theory. I believe that by the time we are 5 years old we have developed coping skills, a way of being, and our basic philosphy of life. This is shaped by coping skills and ways to survive as a young child with often traumatic situations. Survivals skills are crucial but seldom work well as an adult in relationship with the world. Then together we look for ways to disrupt these old patterns and develop new ways of being in relationship. I believe in long-term therapy and their are no "quick fixes" but if you have a commitment to your work the process can unfold much can be accomplished in the peripheral as we work toward the core.

Areas of Expertise:
Worked with adolescents, oncology patients, MS, CF, Combat Trauma, Mens Issues, Couples and Groups. Currently lead an ongoing Mens Weekly Therapy Group from men in my practice. Many of my clients are in the tech field and very effective with work issues, stress, life unlived and mid-life crisis for men. I also have experience with Outward Bound Techniques (Ropes Course, Climbing, and Camping. My often most rewarding and most challeging work is with adolescent boys. I limit three to my practice at any one time. I currently have an opening. Many therapist refer male clients to me as I worked in an intensive trauma setting with combat veterans. We used a method called Group Psychodrama to work with trauma. In short I am not hesistant to acknowlege feelings and affect for men and often extremly therapeutic just to have a man witness the struggle. Work with Couples on how they can repair the torn fabric of their relationship. Struggle and Conflict is a necessary part of a long-term relationship and help from a therapist does not mean Divorce. Oh, okay theories, Psychoanalysis, Jungian Concepts with Dreams, Metaphors, and Fantasies, Rational Behavorial Therapy, Joseph Campbell, Group Psychodrama, Playback Theater, and Outward Bound Team Building.
