Therapy Styles:
By establishing a therapeutic dialog through conversation or another expressive process such as drawing, together we will develop a presence to each other and a place where it is safe to become open and aware of how you experience life, and what concerns you. My goal is to help you find insight and meaning, balance in your work and personal life, to enable your personal development. Working together we will find the best strategies for resolution to your immediate concerns, as well as aiming toward your long term goals. This may allow you to find relief from emotional suffering, and grow towards your potential with authenticity, integrity, compassion, wonder and creativity.

Areas of Expertise:
I practice integrated counseling, enlisting therapeutic modalities as needed such as Cognitive Therapy from within the perspective of Phenomenological Psychology. I incorporate many therapeutic exercises and processes as needed that I have specialized training in, such as Dialogal Therapy, Philosophical Counseling, Narrative Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), Depth or Archetypal Psychotherapy, Focusing, Spiritual Exercises, Voice Therapy, Art Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, and others. These approaches have been developed to augment interpersonal relationships, recover from traumatic loss, adjust to unexpected life events, increase communication skills, restore self-esteem, relieve symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress, loss, enhance creativity and discover a sense of connectedness.

Other information:

I am a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at Saybrook Graduate School and Research Center, a National Certified Counselor, and a Washington State Licensed Mental Health Counselor. My clinical psychology research areas and counseling specialties involve the process of recovery and renewal after experiencing traumatic loss. I have completed my masters and doctoral internships at Virginia Mason Medical Center, Separation and Loss Services, and Cancer Lifeline of Seattle. I received my Master of Arts degree in Psychology from Seattle University and Master of Science degree in Management which was the culmination of a twenty year career in the computer industry as an independent software developer and engineer in a leading software development corporation.
