Other information:

You are about to make a very important decision - who to work with to move your life in a positive direction. The fit of the client and counselor is probably the most important factor in a successful counseling relationship and a successful outcome. If you are looking for a goal oriented counselor who has success in engaging both males and females in the counseling process, please contact me. Clients seek me out, or are referred to me, because they are experiencing challenges in their lives and they realize that they will benefit from having a skilled counselor/ coach to support and challenge them.

My primary tool for helping clients grow through their challenges is a combination of cognitive-behavioral and coaching techniques. Both of these tools utilize a goal orientation and measurable outcomes. These approaches are practical and often lead to significant change/growth in a relatively short period of time - weeks or months rather than years.

Most challenges can be met by dealing with the thoughts and feelings generated by present day experiences. If this strategy is not sufficiently successful, experiences of the past that may be blocking growth are examined.

I believe that the challenges of one’s personal life and the challenges of the work world are interrelated. I am interested in exploring both venues in our conversations. Often, new skills learned through our work together, are useful and appropriate for both venues.

I hold a strong belief that as social animals, we humans want and need relationships and the accompanying intimacy. The depth and type of intimacy is defined by the nature of the relationship - workplace, friendship, family or romantic. In my meetings with you, I will support you in determining the depth of intimacy appropriate for you in your different relationships and will help you move towards that chosen level of intimacy.

I look forward to meeting with you and learning more about your needs and perspectives.
