Therapy Styles: In the service of our work together, interactions between us may at different times be engaging, direct, quietly reflective, lively, humorous or challenging. My role is to facilitate in you a deeper dialog with yourself, to help you move to a felt understanding of the inner conditions of body and mind that are contributing to your experience. Our aim will be to reflect on what happens for you in the telling of your story and in the unfolding of our relationship. As we do this we will begin to construct an understanding of your relations with yourself and others. The possibilities exist for you to explore and work through inner conflicts, disowned needs, unhealed wounds, unrealized longings, or painful patterns and impoverished inner worlds which have you blocked. As the dialog between us evolves you may find that energies formerly bound in “coping” can be put to use enriching life. You may discover that parts of yourself you once gave up in order to survive are now the very parts you need to reclaim, because they hold the key to your current dilemma and thus to your growth.
Areas of Expertise: My work is especially helpful if you’ve noticed that similar difficulties or problems keep recycling in your life, blocking you from a meaningful life and satisfying relationships with others. You may have spent a good deal of time and energy doing what you know to cope or get by, all the while feeling more frustrated, trapped and confused when the seemingly inevitable occurs again. Whether you are struggling with ‘symptoms’ such as anxiety, depression, emptiness, failed relationships, “stuckness,” loneliness, guilt, or addiction, I believe such struggles direct our attention to underlying misalignments of self and soul that drain our life energy but would otherwise be easy to ignore. My focus is on helping you crack the code. If you are in distress, you are being called to attend to yourself at a deeper level. My hope is that our work together will help you to discover who you are meant to be, claim your missing wholeness and vitality, and relate to others from who you truly are. My strengths are my heart, humor, intuition, incisiveness and integrity. When I work with people I’m fully engaged with them and care deeply about them. What conditions of body or mind are trying to get your attention, inviting you in to a deeper dialog with yourself?
